How We Measure Up

When you choose a center for cancer treatment, you place your trust in them. You want the best care for your condition and a compassionate team who’s always in your corner.

At The Ghosh Center, you get both. We consistently exceed national standards for healthcare quality and safety and rank in the 99th percentile for patient satisfaction.

Exceptional Quality & Safety

The Ghosh Center is certified by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) program, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). A score of 75% is required for this certification – our overall score is 94%.

We earn this three-year certification through excellence in:2T-featured-image-QOPI

  • Treatment planning
  • Staff training and education
  • Chemotherapy orders and drug preparation
  • Patient consent and education
  • Safe chemotherapy administration
  • Monitoring and assessment of patient well-being

Since we opened our doors, we’ve upheld guidelines established by the Institute of Medicine for evidence-based care and other quality initiatives.

Raising the Odds of Survival

The most important measure of our performance is our effectiveness in extending lives and curing cancer. We’re dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients and the people who love them. Learn more about how we improve survival.

Tops in Patient Satisfaction

Our Press Ganey scores place us in the top one percent for patient satisfaction – not just in Iowa, but in the nation. We take great pride in this ranking, which we’ve earned three years in a row. Press Ganey scores are the gold standard for exceptional patient experiences. Only a handful of organizations rise to the top.

Here’s how we earn this ranking:

  • Efforts to include patients in decisions
  • Explanations of problem and condition
  • Instructions for follow-up care
  • Nurse/assistant concern for patient problem
  • Patient’s confidence in care provider
  • Recommendations by patients
  • Unity and collaboration

We meet the highest standards for performance, not to win awards, but because it’s in the best interests of our patients. That’s what matters most.
