When patients come first, they live longer, fuller lives. Our five-year survival rate for patients with metastatic cancer is nearly five times greater than the national rate. See the data and learn what the gift of more time means to the people we care for.

Nicole Stanerson

Nicole StanersonI graduated from Mount Mercy University with my BSN, followed by work at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for 11 years. I headed back to Cedar Rapids and worked with Dr. Emery until he retired. In 2013, I started working at The Ghosh Center.

I chose to work at The Ghosh Center because Dr. Ghosh provides very thorough and ethical care. Every patient’s treatment is individualized, and Dr. Ghosh treats the whole person – not just the disease. My favorite part of the job is our patients and my co-workers. I consider it a privilege to support patients during a very emotional and stressful time in their lives. My amazing co-workers go above and beyond to make sure every patient has the best experience possible at a very hard time in their life. I learn something new from my team members daily.

My family includes three children, Jack, Lucy and Ella. My husband and I spend a lot of time at their extracurricular activities. We also like to camp, go boating and spend time outside.
