Dr. Chirantan Ghosh
Dr. Chirantan Ghosh has practiced oncology and hematology in Cedar Rapids for 30 years. His respect for patients and commitment to giving them choices and control form the foundation of our Patients First philosophy. Dr. Ghosh promises each patient he will be with them on every step of their journey. And he is.
Dr. Gerald Hagin
Dr. Hagin has practiced oncology and hematology for over 30 years in a variety of locations. His background includes solo and group practice, the National Health Service Corps, the U.S. Navy Reserve and Christian medical missions. He draws on this experience to provide the compassionate, individualized care every patient deserves.
Dr. George Luiken
Dr. Luiken graduated from the University of Iowa Medical School, followed by an internship, internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California. He has practiced in several states and devoted part of his career to organizing annual CME training for missionary physicians.
Nurse Practitioner, AOCNP
As a nurse practitioner at The Ghosh Center, I care for oncology and hematology patients from the start of treatment through follow up. I have walked this cancer walk as a daughter, friend and provider and bring that perspective to our patients and their loved ones.
As a long-term patient of Dr. Ghosh with first-hand knowledge of his strong work ethic and generosity toward everyone he encounters, I jumped at the opportunity to work with him. Of course my favorite part about working here is the ability to interact with and help our patients in any way I can.
RN, OCN, CBCN
The foundation of The Ghosh Center was set in 2002 through hard work, dedication and determination when Dr. Ghosh started Iowa Blood and Cancer Care. Our small staff all shared the same belief of doing what was right and good for our patients. Doing whatever it takes to put patients first and provide the best care of the whole person is why we are here.
I chose to work for The Ghosh Center after a long journey with my mother and sister, who were both patients of Dr. Ghosh’s. I was spending a considerable amount of time with them, which led to many long discussions with Dr. Ghosh. I was also working at Mercy on the oncology unit, and Dr. Ghosh eventually asked if I would like to join his team. It felt like the only natural decision!
My job as receptionist is to greet and make the patients feel welcome. It is my dream job. I met Dr Ghosh and his team when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Having faith in him and the entire team helped me endure a difficult time. I’m honored to be part of that team, where I strive to brighten the days of patients.
I chose to work at The Ghosh Center because the philosophy that “what you eat does make a difference” was apparent in the way Dr. Ghosh and Mindy advise their patients. I believe it makes a huge difference in someone’s cancer journey when they take full advantage of nutritional guidance. I love meeting with the patients, getting to know them on a personal level and assisting them in any area that I can.
I feel blessed to be a part of The Ghosh Center team. We’re fortunate to have an amazing group of professionals with a lot of clinical experience. Throughout my years of nursing, I have to say this is the most caring group I’ve ever worked with. We truly do put the patients and their families first.
I enjoy working at The Ghosh Center because I believe in the philosophy and practice of putting the patient first. It’s an honor to be an integral part of the Ghosh team of professionals. My job entails collecting patients’ samples and performing the appropriate laboratory tests in order to provide information for diagnosis and treatment monitoring.
My role includes managing all operations of the medication dispensary, which includes filling prescriptions, inventory management, medication compliance and insurance billing and claims. I am blessed to be in a position to help others, especially during difficult times in their lives. If I can help to relieve the stress of one patient, for even one moment of this journey, then I have succeeded.
Putting patients first and making a difference in their lives are high priorities for me. I enjoy communicating with the people we serve and helping them through a difficult time in their lives. If I can make one person smile or laugh in a day, it makes my day better.
